An exclamation mark indicates a clause or compliance file that has been updated since the time you last edited your specification.
E.g, if a standards document is updated, a BRANZ document is updated, or if a specification has been updated Smartspec.
Smartspec doesn't automatically update these in your projects in case there is a specific reason that you have used a specific compliance file or have customised a section.
You can quickly see which part of your project needs updating by clicking the Project Section, following the path of exclamation marks. In the case of roofing, New Zealand Standards 4200.1:1994(AS/NZS) has been superseded and should be updated.
